Hey there! I’m Beth.
Artist. Teacher. Texpat Francophile.* And Fun Drawing Club founder.
I help folks go from feeling frustrated & thinking they "aren't creative" to confidently drawing anything they want & feeling joy while making art!
Fun Drawing Club is built specifically for anyone who feels frustrated, stuck, or limited by a supposed “lack of talent.”
We skip the intimidating art theories and focus on simple, powerful contour drawing techniques that build immediate confidence. Whether you think you’re artistic or not, you will learn to look at the world differently, draw anything you desire, and finally experience the pure joy of making art.
Check out our community headquarters on Skool, where you can share your work, get helpful feedback, and learn from our videos and live drawing workshops, all within a supportive space designed to take you from frustrated to fluent in drawing.
And if you find yourself falling in love with this low-pressure, high-inspiration way of making art, consider joining our premium tier on Skool, The Sketch Society.
As a member of The Sketch Society, you’ll get:
Deep Dive Masterclasses: An ever-expanding vault of tutorials
Critique Corner: Structured & supportive feedback
Live Calls: Draw with me in real-time every month!
Curiosity fuels my art, whether I'm studying the natural beauty of a delicate flower, or the characteristics of an interesting object made by human hands. I've always been an observer with a keen eye for detail, a noticer of the little things. A perfect summer strawberry, iridescent wings on a beetle, an intricately carved detail in a doorway - these kinds of things delight and astound me. I enjoy trying to capture a bit of their essence with my pen or paintbrush.
My husband, Patrick, and I are fixing up a maison bourgeoise in the historic quarter of Amboise. She’s a grande dame of the 18th century, created by joining multiple small medieval houses into one large house. She’s higgledy piggledy and full of surprises.
Our dream is to hold art workshops in the salons and garden, once we've restored them to their former grandeur. We’d love to bring people together for creative retreats and unique art experiences - and of course, delicious French food & wine!
Take a peek at our wacky wonderful 500-year-old house & follow our renovations & other French adventures at "Austin to Amboise" on YouTube!

Looking Ahead: Creative Retreats in France
Down the road, this community is also your golden ticket to our unique events. When we begin hosting small-group, in-person art retreats and workshops in Amboise, members of this club will get first priority for tickets.
Should you decide to upgrade to our premium tier, The Sketch Society, your paid membership goes directly toward a massive labor of love: transforming the salons and gardens of our 500-year-old French house into a fabulous, living retreat space. Your support directly funds the restoration and renovation of this incredible piece of history, ensuring her unique architectural details aren’t lost to time.
We’re already dreaming up fantastic workshops on drawing, painting, writing, and more with incredible guest artists. Our goal is simple: to share a mutual love for the arts and French culture with fellow creatives and adventurous travelers.
Whether you are here for the free prompts or joining us as a premium member, you are actively helping us grow a sanctuary for Francophiles, history buffs, and art lovers. We appreciate every single one of you.
*What is a Texpat Francophile???
It’s a name I made up for myself as I make the transition from living in Austin, Texas, USA to a new life in Amboise, France, a charming town in the Loire Valley.
